Carinae Majoris

Lover of astrophysics and astronomy, and occasionally a little of cosmology for good measure. Interested in the public understanding of all things astronomical, soon to be MSc Astronomy & Astrophysics research student at the Jodrell Bank Centre for Astrophysics for 2010. Physics Alumni member at the Department of Physics at the University of Warwick. My final year project, entitled "Quasi-periodic pulsations in solar flares", was an investigation into helioseismological processes occurring before, during and after the main flaring event in both the hard and soft X-ray wavelengths. My research interests are mainly focused on X-ray astronomy, compact stellar objects, pulsars and white dwarfs. Telescope of choice: a 90mm (3.5") F/1250 Maksutov-Cassegrain.
